How to Create a Presentation from Text

Open the Add-in

Launch PowerPoint and open the ChatGPT for Powerpoint add-in. If you see no add-in, check the "How to install" article

Choose Option “Create from Text”

Paste Your Text

In the text input box, paste the content you want to turn into slides. This can be an article, blog post, report, or any other text you’ve written.

Select the Language

Choose the language in which you want your presentation to be created. This ensures the content is generated in your preferred language.

Choose the Number of Slides

Enter the number of slides you’d like the presentation to have. The AI will summarize and organize your text to fit this number.

Turn on Advanced Options (Optional)

  • Choose Image Source

  • Selects the content form (detailed or short)

Select the type of images you want used in your presentation:

  • Unsplash – high-quality, realistic photos

  • Pexels – modern, royalty-free imagery

  • AI Images – unique, AI-generated visuals

  • Web Images – if you prefer web generated visuals

Preview Presentation Outline

  • You can replace the order of slides or change the titles of the slides

Choose Your Slide Template

  • Pick a design template that suits your topic

  • Change the color of the template if necessary

Click "Continue"

Hit the Continue button and let the AI do the work.

The tool will create:

  • Slide titles

  • Suitable Content

  • Structured flow

  • Visuals

Review and Export

Once the slides are generated, you can:

  • Preview each slide

  • Edit content if needed

Pro Tip: You can regenerate individual slides, edit the text, or customize visuals directly in PowerPoint afterward.

  1. Create Slide (Choose Template Layout - Press “Continue” - Add Topic or Prompt (Turn on Advanced Options if necessary) - Press “Continue” - Completed!)

  2. Add/Replace an image (Choose a Slide to Add or Replace image - Type keywords in search - Press Search Button - Press “Insert” or “Crop” Button on the image - Completed!)

  3. Rewrite Text (Choose Preferred Action or Provide Specific Instructions to Enhance Your Slides - Choose Where You Want to Apply Changes “Selected slides or Selected Text” - Press the Button “Submit” - Completed!)

  4. Add Speaker Notes (Select Your Option “Generate For All Slides or Generate For Selected Slide” - Completed!)
